It’s worth mentioning that the Android version is still 9.0 Pie. But by the end of this year or early 2020, OnePlus may release Android Q update for these models in terms of the last year’s flagship. Google will gonna release the official Android Q Stable version in a couple of months.
OnePlus 6/6T gets August 2019 patch, Fnatic mode, and more
OnePlus 6T device receiving the OxygenOS 9.0.16 firmware update and the OnePlus 6 devices are getting the OxygenOS 9.0.8 update respectively. We recommend you to connect your handset to a good Wi-Fi network and charge your phone battery above 50% at least. As we already mentioned that the latest firmware update brings the August 2019 Android security patch to OnePlus 6/6T devices. The latest update also brings a new password setting option in Hidden Space mode, the new Fnatic mode, Zen mode, and support for DC dimming, etc. It also offers support for VoLTE/VoWiFi as well. According to the update changelog, the OxygenOS 9.0.16 and OxygenOS 9.0.8 updates offer an optimized pocket mode, apps response issue fixe, and the fingerprint issue while screen recorder is on. The software update also brings the new Quick Reply option in Landscape mode which you can enable from the device Settings > Utilities > Quick Reply in the landscape.
Manually Check for OTA Updates
OnePlus always roll-out the firmware OTA updates via batches and it may take some time to receive completely. If you’re using any of the OnePlus 6 or 6T devices and didn’t receive any OTA update notification yet, you can manually check for it. Just go to the device Settings > System > Software updates > Check for updates. If the update is available on your handset, download and installs it normally. After the complete download and installation process, your handset will reboot automatically.
